Start of DSI PhD Module on AI Buddy!

On September 23, our PhD module on the AI Buddy started at the Digital Society Initiative (DSI)!
Dr. Oriane Pierrès, Dr. Antoine Logean, Diana Pak, and Prof. Dr. Markus Christen are guiding PhD students from the DSI Excellence Program as they tackle practical and ethical challenges related to the development and use of the AI Buddy.
Our course takes inspiration from the hackathon format, but on a larger scale. Over the semester, students will develop prototypes and critical reflections on how to guardrail AI assistants in higher education to ensure safe interactions and bias-free course recommendations. While linked to the AI Buddy prototype, we encourage students to critically reflect on when technical solutions may not be the best solutions.
We are looking forward to the discussions and to discovering the creative ideas our students!
